Proposition D focuses on improvements to Traylor Stadium.
TRAYLOR STADIUM
Proposition D includes improvements to Traylor Stadium, including upgrading to LED lighting and replacing the 10-year-old turf. Traylor Stadium originally opened in 1960 and has undergone a series of improvements in its 60+ years to keep it in working condition as our District Stadium for all 6 High Schools currently.
TIME TO UPDATE
Traylor Stadium uses synthetic turf, which has a lifespan of ten years. The last turf replacement was in 2013. Last year, Traylor hosted 70+ games, contests and events which involved approximately 13,000 students. The stadium turf needs to be replaced to keep it safe and useable for the next ten years.
LIGHTING UPGRADES
Replacement light fixtures are no longer available when one needs to be replaced at the stadium, so the time has come to update the poles and lights to the current LED standards. Additionally, upgrading to LED fixtures will save us money on our utility costs.
